Midnight Mania! Wanna Bet On NSAC Hearing With McGregor, Khabib, Jones?

Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight …

Welcome to Midnight Mania!

You can bet on Tuesday’s Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) hearing, which features not only Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor, but Jon Jones to boot. Khabib and Conor are there to reckon for their actions after UFC 229, in which Khabib leapt into the crowd after Dillon Danis. McGregor slugged climbed the fence after him, punched one of Khabib’s team, slugged another, then was hit from behind by a third Russian in a wild brawl on the most purchased UFC Pay-Per-View of all time. Jon Jones will be seeing if the commission will clear him to fight Anthony Smith in the main event of UFC 235.

The commission can fine each fighter the full amount of their fight purse. Interestingly enough, the odds for Khabib’s and McGregor’s suspension lengths are the same, and the over-under for 6 months is dead even. The Bovada odds are courtesy of Forbes.com:

Over 6 Months -120

Under 6 Months – 120

Jones is heavily favored to get his license, after the UFC opted to move an entire event from Nevada to California due to his tests coming back positive for trace amounts of turinabol metabolite. The UFC and USADA claimed these were residual effects of his previous turinabol use 18 months prior, for which he had already been suspended. This is evidently an argument everyone in charge is prepared to buy, at least according to the odds.

Yes – 1400

No – +750

Parlaying a Jon Jones license with any two of the other outcomes will net you $ 260 for every $ 100 you bet- provided you get it right.

Jon Jones Hearing an Epic Disaster for Jon Jones

Jon Jones faced the music with the California State Athletic Commission today, answering for his failed drug test at UFC 214 with a lot of “dunno” “huh?”

He subsequently was fined a healthy chunk of change and had his license revoked.

Curiously, Jones tweeted this afterwards…

Lest you think otherwise, Jones got creamed today. His defense was an epic disaster. And if he goes with the same “explanation” against USADA, his suspension is going to be a hundred years.

Here are what some experts had to say about Jones and his hearing.

Live! Jon Jones CSAC Hearing From Anaheim

I hope you got your wagers in, as there’s no time left to place bets on whether or not former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion Jon Jones will get suspended by California State Athletic Commission (CSAC).

Seriously.

“Bones” pissed dirty prior to his title-winning performance at UFC 214 last July, and since the pay-per-view (PPV) fight card took place in “The Golden State,” CSAC was responsible for overseeing pre- and post-fight regulation, including drug tests.

So was United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), but that’s a hearing for a later date.

Jones will appear before the commission today (Tues., Feb. 27, 2018) at 1 p.m. ET (10 a.m. PT) to answer for his infraction and could be facing a disciplinary suspension of up to one year (retroactive to July 29), as well a hefty fine.

To the tune of 40-percent of this payout.

Despite finishing Daniel Cormier in the third round of their championship headliner, Jones was subsequently stripped of his title and saw his win overturned to a “No Contest.” The “Bones” team insists the embattled pound-for-pound great did not intentionally cheat and expect to be exonerated in today’s hearing.

History is not on their side.

Watch the live stream of today’s CSAC hearing, attended by Jones, his attorney Howard Jacobs and agents Malki and Abe Kawa, in the embedded video above. Also be sure to check back with us throughout the day for more on Jones’ future, including reactions from UFC officials and so much more.

See you at 1 pm!
