Flyweights Henry Cejudo and Jussier Formiga to square off on Nov. 21 in Mexico

For those wondering how Henry Cejudo would handle himself against a top five opponent, you’re about to find out.

The UFC announced on Monday that a flyweight bout between the 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist and No. 3 ranked Jussier Formiga is official for The Ultimate Fighter Latin America 2 finale in Monterrey, Mexico.

The undefeated Cejudo (9-0), 28, is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Chico Camus at UFC 188 in Mexico City. He is now 3-0 in the UFC, having scored decisions over Dustin Kimura and Chris Cariaso as well. With his decorated wrestling background, Cejudo has been an intrigue in the 125-pound division, whom many believe could one day challenge or the title.

He is currently ranked No. 5 on the UFC’s media-driven rankings.

He’ll be facing his toughest test to date in his clash with the Brazilian, Formiga. The one-time Shooto champion has won three fights in a row since losing to Joseph Benavidez in 2013, his latest coming against Wilson Reis at UFC Fight Night 67 in May. He won that fight via unanimous decision in Goiana, Brazil.

The TUF Latin America 2 finale will take place at the Arena Monterrey on Nov. 21. The event will headlined by welterweights Kelvin Gastelum and Matt Brown. Other bouts already announced for the main card include the featherweight debut of Diego Sanchez as he takes on Ricardo Lamas, and a lightweight bout between Efrain Escudero and Leandro Silva.
