Dan Hardy declines Mickey Gall’s callout – ‘I don’t want to beat up a kid that I enjoy watching’

After submitting Sage Northcutt at UFC on FOX 22 inside Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, Calif., (watch highlights here), Mickey Gall continued his tradition of immediately calling out his next opponent. This time around, Gall asked for a bout against former Welterweight title challenger, Dan Hardy, in a fight that would be contested at Lightweight. “The Outlaw” had a brief and comical response via social media, but during a recent stop on “The MMA Hour,” Hardy respectfully declined the call-out … while Gall was on the other line listening.

He explains:

“I almost spat my tea out, it was like four in morning and I wasn’t expecting it. I appreciate the call-out and I appreciate the respect that you’ve shown me, but I have never fought anybody with less than eight fights, not even in my first pro fight. We are at different phases in our careers. I’m not looking at knocking off a future contender that I’m possibly going to be commentating for in the future. At the same time, if I was going to fight, I want to fight a veteran. I want to fight someone that has had 20 or 30 fights and has matured in their game and is sure of their fighting style, not one that is still developing. I like to see the development of these young fighters and I don’t want to interfere with that in anyway. I’m 10 years older and we are at different phases in our careers.”

After getting shut down, Gall responded by saying that he respected his decision and still considers the British brawler a legend of the sport before hanging up the phone. Hardy proceeded to say that if he does return, he wants to face a long-time veteran who he can really get motivated for.

“It just doesn’t make sense. It doesn’t appeal to me and I don’t want to beat up a kid that I enjoy watching. There are a lot more older guys out there that have mature in their style and know their capabilities. There are a lot of fighters out there that I would be motivated to fight. And Mickey is a kid, I appreciate where he is in his career, four fights, and he is an exciting future prospect and I don’t want to play a part in the building of his career in any way.”

And that’s that, though Hardy did say he wouldn’t be opposed to a grappling match with the young up-and-comer down the road. Of course, Hardy’s still unsure that he will even return to the cage anytime soon, as he has one final test to go through in January to see if he is able to sustain the rigors of a training camp and a fight after he was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome back in 2013.

But, just a few months ago, “The Outlaw” teased an MMA comeback, declaring that if and when he does return, he’ll be doing it at 155 pounds. It’s a division filled with plenty of battle-tested veterans who can clearly fit “The Outlaw” criteria of a motivating challenge.

Jon Jones responds to Daniel Cormier’s UFC 197 withdrawal: ‘Enjoy that belt’

Jon Jones is going to have to wait longer than expected if he wants to earn back his UFC light heavyweight title.

Jones’ rival, UFC champion Daniel Cormier, was forced to withdraw from a scheduled April 23 rematch at UFC 197 due to injury, MMAFighting.com confirmed Friday via multiple sources. Less than a day later, Jones broke his silence on the dropout by directing a message towards Cormier on Twitter.

UFC officials have yet to make an official announcement on Cormier’s injury.

The situation comes just days after Jones (21-1) was arrested for violating the terms of his probation as the result of a controversial traffic stop by officer Jason Brown of the Albuquerque Police Department. Jones received five tickets for the incident, including one for drag racing. Body camera footage also captured Jones calling Brown a “f*cking liar” and a “pig” during a heated exchange.

After serving two days in jail, Jones was released Thursday and sentenced to attend courses for driver improvement and anger management, along with 60 additional hours of community service and restrictions on his driving abilities.

The UFC issued a statement that the organization was “disappointed” and “concerned” by Jones’ latest run-in with the law, but it would still allow his rematch against Cormier at UFC 197 to continue as planned.

It won’t matter now though, as Cormier will sidelined for the immediate future due to an injury suffered in training.

UFC 197 takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV. A flyweight title bout between UFC champion Demetrious Johnson and Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo remains on the card.

‘I’m going to enjoy choking you to death:’ Josh Grispi arrest update reveals unsettling text messages

As if the charges against Josh Grispi weren’t unsettling as it is, a new arrest update reveals a dark, sadistic side to the former UFC featherweight.

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight Josh Grispi is in deep doo-doo.

“The Fluke” — who was bounced from the promotion following four consecutive losses — was arrested earlier this week on charges of domestic violence, after allegedly training his pitbull to maul his wife on command. That’s on top of the drugs and weapons found at his residence (full report here).

And believe it or not, it gets worse.

A new update from Middleborough’s “Wicked Local” has a transcription of text messages Grispi allegedly sent to his wife, obtained from court records, and they share what can only be described as a sick, sadistic level of physical and mental abuse.

“UR (expletive) dead and if u even try n bring my kids into it the worse it will b for u and if u try and make a seen (sic) I’ll choke u unconscious and smash ur throat and if u get worse n run around after I’m goin to let Buddy have at u and I’ll walk out of the room.”

“Don’t cure (sic) you whore, That’s all u think abor (sic) ur a (expletive) scum bag piece of (expletive) who I’m goin enjoy choking to death.”

“U better not b bluffing about cops cuz I don’t joke ur dead when I see u… Literally. I don’t care I’m going to beat u n throw u to buddy, Ur dead.”

His wife, Kaitlyn, reportedly suffered a broken wrist and concussion from Grispi’s alleged beating, in addition to trauma inflicted by the pitbull attack. Their children, ages one and three, were placed in custody of their grandparents (on Kaitlyn’s side). The dog was turned over to animal control.

More updates to this sad and unfortunate story, as they become available.

If You Like Fetish Porn, You Might Enjoy Rin Nakai’s Latest Pancrase Promos, You Pervert

(Props: YouTube.com/PancraseChannel. Tip via MiddleEasy)

Look, we know Rin Nakai isn’t for everybody. As an Asian woman who’s built like Bolo Yeung, the undefeated Queen of Pancrase appeals to a very specific fetish. But she’s never been afraid of playing up her unique look, and over the last few months Rin has been recording short promo videos for Pancrase’s YouTube channel, some of which feature her pumping iron while wearing very little clothing. Or bathing. Or just sitting there drinking coffee. It’s weird stuff, to be sure — but if the goal is to promote her fights, I guess it’s better than nothing. We’ve picked out some of Rin Nakai’s more notable clips, which continue after the jump. Enjoy, if you’re the kind of person who enjoys that sort of thing.
